I have weekends and some nights free every week. I work pretty efficiently, and I’m thinking about getting into the mortgage, loan origination, or insurance brokerage industries on the side. Has anybody done this? Is it possible? Any resources you would suggest? I’m really competent with the internet and building websites, and I have a large local audience that I can advertise to. If not, are there any other jobs to think about?

Maybe an insurance broker. In case you have not noticed, there are thousands of unemployed mortgage brokers and loan originators looking for work. And the ones still working are hard up for sales because of the lending standards going back to normal. Making easy money doing those things is history now.

Let’s face it, here in the U.S. the medical insurance premiums for group health coverage is rising faster than inflation. As a result, a lot of companies are either reducing the levels of coverage in order to offset the cost of insurance, increasing the deductible, and or increasing the cost to the employees for the insurance premiums.

The problem is that insurance companies have no incentive to reduce insurance premiums. They continue to get record profits and this issue is out of control.

How do we get the insurance companies to decrease insurance premiums to the rate of inflation, or better yet, start reducing the cost of premiums for a change?

I got a quote for my wife and me for life insurance (20 years/400K each). I would like to negotiate a better rate with the broker (assuming same coverage).Can it be done, or are the rates fixed, is there room to negotiate. we did the blood work and were offered standard rates.

Your rate can not be negotiated when the underwriting is done. If you don’t like your rate, you can refuse to accept the policy within 30 days and there will be a refund of premiums.

What you can negotiate is going through different companies. Shop around. Make sure you check the financial strength ratings from AM Best!

I am asking for someone else, but I was wondering what was that insurance commercial when the insurance man calls the woman to tell her that her payments where later and later, then she completely stopped paying, I know someone who wants this insurance, but can’t think of the name of the company.

As a personal trainer, I don’t have the ability to bill insurance companies for the specialized type of training I offer. I have been thinking about taking this method to Spinal Specialists and Physical Therapy centers. Prior to approaching Doctors and Physical Therapy centers, I would like to know what type of Billing Code they could use, so they can receive compensation for my efforts, hence making it more attractive for them to embrace the work I do. My medical insurance has expired and I’ve just decided which one to buy next. How long does an insurance company need to approve an application and get it activated??

What is the best health insurance and life insurance policies? I am recently out of the military and need to purchase an individual health ins policy. However, I am not sure which ones are the best. I am a student, do they offer any good student policies? Also, is the SGLI to VGLI conversion a good change to make? If not, which is better term or whole life insurance policies?

A woman gave a friend a run every week, a couple of weeks ago they bumped into another car, there was no damage to either car. Her friend the passenger claimed she had whiplash, she was off work for 1 week and is now planning on suing driver.
The driver only has 3rd party car insurance and was just wondering if her car insurance would pay out to passenger or would she have to pay out herself if claim goes through?

That’s what third party insurance is for. The passenger would be considered the third party and can sue the driver of the vehicle in which she was travelling. If there is negligence on the part of the driver and damages as a result then there could be a valid claim.

The car is only one part of the monthly cost. The driver and his/her record is another while location is a third major factor.

No one company will give you the best rates when all of those above criteria are looked at.
