If I take a seasonal part time job delivering things with my own truck/trailer, do I need commercial insurance?

I’m thinking about taking a second job that I would use my own pick-up and sometimes my little trailer to deliver things for kids parties. It would only be on the weekends usually from May till October. It wouldn’t even be every weekend. Do I need to get commercial auto insurance?

Yes legally you do if you don’t and have an accident not only will you not be reimbursed for damages you may be charged with insurance fraud.

You need to speak directly to your broker or agent for an absolute answer/guidence, however if you have a personal auto policy, be advised, most all personal auto policies carry a "business/commercial use exclusion" in which you would have signed, agreeing there would be no coverage bound for such use. However, as an answer to your question, a commercial policy would provide coverage for such use. Best of luck to you!
