It depends alot of which state you live in because they state regualted some reguire different licences.

First you need to get licensed. Check out Dearborn.com for study materials. Talk to some local agents. You can get a list from here: http://www.findlocalinsurance.com
One strategy may be to become an independent agent and rent a desk in a realtor’s office. Then you work with the realtor to write all the homeowners insurance for the houses purchased in their office.
