Do you have to have a vehicle to get an auto insurance quote?
ok so i am wondering how much insurance would be for someone like me who has no credit and never owned a car before. i have tried checking online for quotes and stuff but i dont even have a car, and the sites like geico or progressive require u to have a vehicle to even get a quote. i live in minnesota and im 24 if that makes a difference.

The cost for insurance is based on what make, model, and year of car you have, so yes, you need to actually know what type of car you want to insure before you can get an accurate quote.

Tell the insurance company the make and model of a car you are thinking about getting…Rates range from vehicle to vehicle. There is now way they could give you a rate without a vehicle…
For instance a car with a lien requires FULL coverage, and one that is paid off, requires liability….
So…a corvette that has a lien might be..200 dollars a month…where a paid off Toyota Camry might be 50 dollars a month….quite a difference
