Is there any negative effect on my credit scores if i take a auto insurance quote?

i mean.
as i know, they need to put in my credit rating and as such, will it hurt my credit rating, i have great score.

i know credit score takes a hit if you ask for a online loan quote.

    It depends on how they go about pulling it up but mostly it should be a soft check, if they do a soft check then it wont have any effect on your credit. If its a hard check then they would afto let you know before doing so and that could have a negative effect of 5 points, usually hard it only used for loans, extensions, or when a company is taking high risk etc.
