What does UnitedHealthcare CEO Stephen Hemsley have to lose if Congress passes real healthcare reform this year? Well, for starters, his nearly three quarters of a billion dollars in unexercised stock options might lose a few pennies on the dollar.
What does Isabella, a four year-old girl in Winsconsin who is physically incapable of eating and has had to be tube fed her entire life, have to gain from healthcare reform? The treatment she needs to live a normal life.
Brave New Films is launching a major new campaign to reveal the truth about the health insurance industry, and we need your help to do it. Contribute $25 today so we can create more campaigns exposing the obscene wealth of the CEOs of Aetna, CIGNA, Humana and WellPoint and the policyholders theyve abandoned for profit.

well we know why …
well we know why Lfdjake91 hasn’t got the mental health care he needs, neo-con hero ronnie reagan dumped federal health cared for mental health patients on to the states . that’s when ronnie and his buddies in the right wing gubmint decided mental health was a private problem. another failure of the right. they just keep adding up.
don’t you just luv the party of no?! or maybe we should start calling republicans the party of “fuck you”!

The point they are …
The point they are trying to make is that they are in it for profit and they don’t give a rat about anyone but themselves. It is ok to make money, but not at the expense of people’s lives.

DillonX Ya’ll that …
DillonX Ya’ll that are getting VA , you used to be soldiers, right? What do you think about organizing Vets to march & protest for the human rights of the American public! Its ludicrous that our soldiers have died all over the globe, and yet other nations are better off than us for all the pain & suffering by America soldiers.

DillonX Blue Cross …
DillonX Blue Cross seriously sucks! I just had to get them to pay my primary doctor 103$ for son’s bill from back in February. Now a colonoscopy coming up for me, I have to pay 20% out of pocket ON TOP of deductible. I have BC/BS PPO. I thought PPO was supposed to be so much better than HMO?

I have a challenge …
I have a challenge to all of those who believe our current healthcare system is just fine: Tomorrow morning, first thing, drop your health insurance for both you and your family. Then you will be able to experience America’s fabulous healthcare system in its entirety. Until you know what our system is really like, you don’t have much gravitas in the debate.

I hate United …
I hate United Health Care, I hate trying to get someone pre-authed, they are the worst insurance of any, to deal with!
August 12th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
I work for the …
I work for the largest non-profit healthcare in the state, and am adjunct faculty at a college, both keep me as part time, for the past five years, so that they don’t have to pay for health insurance, try calling UHC, someday, for a pre-auth, and see what I mean, they are the scum of the earth!
August 12th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
Note EVERY single …
Note EVERY single politician, regardless of political party, who is not in TOTAL support of health care reform, in EVERY city state & district.
These atrocities MUST stop – it’s inhumane, -un-Christian, .. completely UNETHICAL to PROFIT from the misery of others.
August 12th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
I agree, Bryan & I …
I agree, Bryan & I also was in the USMC & came from a military family. Still go to the VA because it’s cheaper & better than the health insurance offered by my employer…who happens to be none other than UHC right here in MN. The funniest part is that UHC insurance (for-profit) is not even allowed in this state. UHC employees are treated ligs cogs in a machine. As I’ve heard lots around the office, “We’re a business, not a charity”
August 12th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
bryan – I agree …
bryan – I agree with you.
I was w/ Blue Cross & always had to have my doctor fight w/ them about getting something done.
I went to VA & now when my doctor orders something, it’s done & he has to argue w/ no one.
The VA has been so much better.
But the Ins companies have defeated the Public Option – it ain’t happening!
August 12th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
Give it up, libs.
…
Give it up, libs.
The Health Insurance Companies have won.
There are only 100 Senators & when you give millions in contributions (bribes) it wasn’t that hard.
The Ins Cos are victorious — go get your crying towel — they have won.

Paying the ransom …
Paying the ransom health care providers want for care has to be fixed before a national healthcare system can be implemented.
When a procedure that costs $108 dollars in Australia costs $1575 in the USA something is badly broken. (Yes Real Numbers).
Put a cap on malpractice, regulate care quality and remove the criminal markup on medical items. Then national healthcare might work.
A hospital is nothing but a hotel with well trained staff and some fancy equipment.
Start running it that way.
August 12th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
I think the point …
I think the point behind a public option is that your bad situation is much better than having nothing at all. What they are selling is a crappy public option. So if the market works like it’s supposed to, people will keep their private insurance but still have lower costs. Whatever the outcome we have to do something different than what’s going on now. Blue Cross gave out bonuses to employees who could deny the most claims – now that is just wrong. Premiums have to go down.
August 12th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
That is a great …
That is a great question. It seems obvious to me that we can’t just do nothing. It’s almost impossible to know what people opposed want when all they do is scream and insult.
August 12th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
Not just that, …
Not just that, thousands of people were appointed for a colonoscopy. They didn’t disenfect them properly and over 5000 got AIDs and contless other STDs I think it was last april.
August 12th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
As a former …
As a former Infantry Marine and current Combat Medic and the son of a retired Army soldier, I have had a government run, single payer system my entire life. While I was in college, I received my primary care from the VA and was completely satisfied! All health care delivery systems have their deficiencies but our model is better than no model at all for the millions of uninsured Americans! My question is if you’re standing up against health care for all, what are you standing up for?
